Description

This Schoeps Colette set pairs the MK 5 switchable capsule with the CMC 1 L, a miniature microphone amplifier with a Lemo output connector. The MK 5 changes between omnidirectional and cardioid patterns with a mechanical sliding lever on the side of the capsule.

The CMC 1 L is about one-third the length and 53% lighter than the CMC 6, so the complete microphone suits applications where size and weight matter. It runs on 48 V or 12 V phantom power, draws very little current and has the Schoeps RFI Shield for high immunity from RF interference.

It is a true one-diaphragm system, a pure pressure transducer in the omni setting and a pressure gradient transducer in the cardioid setting. Schoeps calls it nearly an all-purpose capsule and recommends it for those starting out with the Colette series. In the cardioid setting it maintains its directivity even at the lowest frequencies.
