Description

The SCHOEPS CMIT 5 U is a shotgun microphone with unusually low coloration of off-axis sound. Its directionality increases smoothly with higher frequencies, which gives a balanced sonic character. This version comes in the chromagreen finish.

Three pushbutton filters adapt it to the recording situation: a high-frequency emphasis, a steep low-cut filter against wind and boom noise, and a gentle low-frequency rolloff that compensates for proximity effect. LEDs show the filter status, and the settings are kept when the microphone is switched off.

The directional pattern is the same in the vertical and horizontal planes, so the sound stays consistent if the microphone is rotated on its axis. It is suited to dialogue and, if required, to music recordings such as opera.

Features

Low Off-Axis Coloration
Off-axis sound is recorded with unusually low coloration, and its level falls softly yet steadily, which also reduces the effects of movement during boom operation.

Three Switchable Filters
Pushbuttons activate a high-frequency emphasis, a steep low-cut filter and a gentle low-frequency rolloff for proximity effect. The settings are retained when the microphone is switched off.

LED Filter Status
Pairs of LEDs next to each pushbutton show the filter settings, even in darkness.

Rotationally Symmetrical Pattern
The polar pattern is the same in the vertical and horizontal planes, so the sound stays consistent when the microphone is rotated on its axis.

Wind Noise Immunity
It offers even greater immunity to wind noise than a SCHOEPS supercardioid.

Dialogue and Music
It is suitable for music recording as well as dialogue, including opera recordings if required.

Lightweight All-Metal Housing
The robust all-metal housing is very lightweight, and capsule and amplifier are built as a single unit.
