Description

The Schoeps Desert Island Set with MK 2 is a matched stereo set from the modular Colette series, delivered in a robust Peli Case. It contains two CMC 1 U microphone amplifiers and two matched MK 2 capsules, plus a certificate of matching for the capsules.

The MK 2 is an omnidirectional capsule with a linear frequency response for sound arriving from the front. This gives a very natural sound for near-field recordings, and the capsule can be placed very close to the source without sounding too brilliant or harsh. Close-miking instruments is its preferred use.

The CMC 1 U is about one-third the length of the CMC 6, and every Colette capsule and active accessory works with it. Two SG 20 stand clamps are included for setup.
