Description

The Allen & Heath DX164-W is a wall-mountable remote audio expander designed for professional installations that require high-quality, flexible I/O over a DX network. Featuring 16 mic preamps with individually switchable phantom power and 4 line outputs, this expander is ideal for adding remote stage or wall I/O to dLive, Avantis, SQ, AHM-64, and compatible Qu mixers. Its compact, robust chassis and smart mounting design make it a perfect solution for permanent setups in venues, theatres, educational institutions, houses of worship, and broadcast environments.

Designed with installation versatility in mind, the DX164-W supports flush or surface wall mounting as well as floor trap installation, and it can be adapted to fit standard NEMA enclosures with optional custom brackets. With dual locking EtherCon ports, the unit supports both redundant and cascade network modes, ensuring flexibility and reliability. The DX164-W is built to be plug-and-play, with automatic firmware updates via the host mixer, and allows for remote preamp control via compatible Allen & Heath mixers or the dedicated DT Preamp Control software when used with third-party Dante systems.
