Description

The SCHOEPS MK 22g Matched Pair is a set of two matched MK 22 microphone capsules with the Open Cardioid pickup pattern, in matte gray. The pattern was introduced by Schoeps in 2008 and lies between the classic cardioid and the wide cardioid.

It offers both a fair amount of directivity and a very natural sound quality. The MK 22 has become a preferred soloist and spot microphone, and it is also used as the mid microphone for M/S or as a main microphone pair, for example at a spacing of 21 cm and an angle of +/- 55°.

Open Cardioid Pattern
It combines the directionality of the MK 4 cardioid with the warm sound characteristics of the MK 21 wide cardioid.

Consistent Polar Diagram
The polar diagram is highly consistent across the frequency range, which gives a natural sound quality.

Spot, M/S and Main Pair
It is popular as a spot or soloist microphone, as the mid microphone for M/S, or as a main microphone pair.
