Description

This Schoeps set contains three matched MK 2S omnidirectional capsules in a matte gray finish. The MK 2S is Schoeps' most popular pressure transducer, with a slight high-frequency emphasis for frontal sound incidence and only a slight rolloff of high frequencies off axis and in the reverberant sound field.

Its somewhat brighter sound, compared with the MK 2 and MK 2H, makes it ideal as a main or room microphone, especially in larger rooms. It is often used for A/B stereo and the Decca Tree, and has proven particularly useful in two- and three-microphone stereo arrays placed near the reverberation radius.

Schoeps lists the CMC 1 U, CMC 1 L and CMC 6 as matching amplifiers, and recommends KA 40 accessory spheres for A/B stereo and Decca Tree recording.
