Description

The Schoeps MK 4VXPg Matched Pair is two MK 4VXP close-pickup capsules in matte gray, supplied as a matched pair. Each one is a side-addressed cardioid capsule designed for the very closest speech pickup, directly in front of the speaker's mouth, with a polar diagram identical to the MK 4V.

Its low-frequency rolloff of -10 dB at 100 Hz is compensated by proximity effect. Up to the point of its high-frequency emphasis, the response stays flat for the speaker's voice, while sound from a greater distance is rolled off at low frequencies. As a result, background sounds are picked up less strongly than the person speaking.

XP is the stronger of the two rolloff levels in this series and is meant for use where there is loud low-frequency environmental sound, for example a reporter in a stadium. Preferred applications are close speech pickup, and the capsule is also available in the HSC 4VXP headset.

Features

Side-Addressed Cardioid
A cardioid capsule that is addressed from the side, made for very close speech pickup under 10 cm.

Strong Low-Frequency Rolloff
The response rolls off by -10 dB at 100 Hz, the stronger of the two rolloff levels in this series.

Proximity Effect Compensation
The rolloff is compensated by proximity effect, so the speaker's voice stays flat up to the point of the high-frequency emphasis.

Less Background Sound
Sound from a greater distance is rolled off at low frequencies, so background sounds are picked up less strongly than the person speaking.

Loud Low-Frequency Environments
Suited to use where loud low-frequency environmental sound is present, for example a reporter in a stadium.

Plosive Protection
Increased protection from plosive noise for close speech work.

Same Polar Diagram as the MK 4V
The polar diagram is identical to the MK 4V side-address cardioid capsule.

Matched Pair
Supplied as a pair of two matched capsules.

Fits Colette Amplifiers
Listed as matching the CMC 1 U, CMC 1 L and CMC 6 microphone amplifiers.

Headset and Table Stand Use
Also available in the HSC 4VXP headset, and recommended for use with TR or TSR table stands.
