Description

The Schoeps MSTC 7 U is the ORTF stereo microphone amplifier on its own, supplied without capsules. It is a T-shaped two-channel microphone amplifier onto which two paired MK 4 cardioid capsules are screwed, arranged at a distance of 170 mm and at an angle of 110° to each other, as the ORTF method requires.

Set-up is quick and easy. Only a single stand and cable are needed, and the capsule distance and the angle between the capsules do not have to be adjusted. The output is an XLR-5M plug, and the included AK SU/2U breakout cable splits the stereo XLR-5F jack into two XLR-3M plugs.

The latest generation uses the updated circuitry of the CMC 1 amplifier, with lower operating current, greater or equal headroom and better protection from interferences. It comes with an SG 20 stand clamp, so it can go on a stand straight away once capsules are fitted.
