Each microphone is manufactured and tested in Vienna, Austria, and built around Austrian Audio’s CKR12 ceramic capsule, delivering detailed, natural sound reproduction with impressive consistency between microphones.
What sets the OC818 apart is its remarkable adaptability. The microphones offer multiple selectable polar patterns, including cardioid, omnidirectional, figure-8, hypercardioid, and custom programmable options, allowing engineers to tailor microphone response to virtually any recording scenario. With low self-noise, high sensitivity, and the ability to handle extremely high sound pressure levels, the OC818 is equally at home capturing delicate vocal performances, acoustic instruments, loud guitar cabinets, brass sections, and percussion. Optional wireless control capabilities further expand its functionality, enabling remote adjustment of polar patterns, pads, and high-pass filters through the PolarPilot mobile app.
