The SCHOEPS PAD 10 C is an attenuator for Colette series microphones. It gives ca. 10 dB of constant attenuation and raises the maximum sound pressure level by ca. 10 dB.
Under extreme conditions the limiting factor is not the capsule but the microphone amplifier. The PAD attenuates the signal ahead of CMC microphone amplifiers and is inserted between the capsule and the microphone amplifier or the Active Accessories. It is a passive accessory with two contacts, at the top and bottom.
