Description

This Stereo Set 18 is a matched pair of SCHOEPS Colette microphones: two CMC 1 U microphone amplifiers with two MK 8 figure-of-eight capsules, in matte gray. SCHOEPS supplies its Colette stereo sets as two complete microphones with selected, matched capsules in one wooden case.

The MK 8 is a pure pressure-gradient transducer with a lateral pickup direction, perpendicular to the microphone axis. Its preferred applications are M/S, double M/S and Blumlein stereo. The figure-eight pattern remains constant from low to high frequencies, and the 0° axis is marked with a red dot.

The CMC 1 U is the small Colette amplifier with an XLR-3M output. It works on 48 V or 12 V phantom power and is protected by the SCHOEPS RFI Shield.
