It’s a streamlined version of United's UT Twin87, offering a fixed true cardioid pattern and a simplified internal layout that preserves sonic integrity. This mic delivers a clean, articulate signal with excellent clarity, making it a dependable choice for professional recording and broadcast environments.

At its core is United’s custom-built K87-style capsule, crafted with a dual-diaphragm design and 24k gold-sputtered Mylar for accurate and balanced sound reproduction. The output transformer, made in the USA, features a large-core construction that supports high headroom and prevents low-end loss over long cable runs. From vocals and acoustic instruments to room and ensemble capture, the UT Vintage87 offers versatility, low self-noise, and a timeless design built for consistent, high-quality performance.
