Mojave Audio MA-1000

The Mojave Audio MA-1000 has a large diaphragm multi-pattern tube condenser microphone, the first model in the company's new Signature Series line of products.

Drawing inspiration from some of yesterday's most revered microphones, Technical Grammy award winning microphone designer David Royer has created a thoroughly modern tube microphone that features an original new old-stock 5840 tube, 251-style capsule, and custom designed transformer built by Coast Magnetics. The result A sweet, airy top end, 'you-are-there' realism in the mids and an accurate yet authoritative bottom end. The Signature Series has been exhaustively field tested against microphones often costing $20K or more - universally evoking the same 'Wow' response usually reserved for only the most prized vintage mics. Push up the fader and say 'Ahhh!' With performance, reliability, and quality like this, we are sure you'll agree that Mojave's new Signature Series microphone is a New American Classic.

    Wonderful !
Tried it on male vocals only so far. I found that the MA-1000 was a very robust and stable sounding microphone. Seems very reliable in terms of sensitiveness and build quality. You feel like your singing into something very "together". In terms of sound, the lows are very present but tight, the mids are big and "in your face" and the highs are very open and airy, but not aggressive whatsoever, very smooth in fact. Looks and sounds very "Pro" and the shock mount is very solid, versatile and very effective.

Although I still need to do some acoustic guitar with it this week, I would definitely pick this mic for many vocal applications, whether male, female, voice-over or broadcast.

Very nice discovery on my part and I will definitely recommend it to many of my friends in the business !!
