MPN #MK-012-01 stereopair
The MK-012-01 is a compact, high quality capacitor microphone with interchangeable cardioid polar pattern capsule. Matched Pair.
The wide, flat response ensures that all sounds are captured with a high degree of accuracy.
A -10 dB pad is included for use in high SPL environments, a low-cut pad is optionally available. The capsules, which screw onto the microphone body, utilise a precision, integral connection system to ensure reliable electrical contact.
The MK-012 is suitable for use in any situation where an accurate sound is required, the small size of the system makes it ideal for use in broadcast, sound for picture, installation, sound reinforcement and theatre situations as well as the recording studio.
In pairs, the MK-012s are perfectly suited for coincident and spaced stereo miking techniques, and also overhead useage in live and studio situations.

Simply great units
Have used this pair for almost 2 years now and cannot find anything of significance to complain about. These mics simply do what they are designed to do, and do it exceptionally well. I've use them for mandolins, balalaika, acoustic guitars, drums, and they simply give you a flat balanced sound with a very low self noise. Read more
The audio interface is a Roland Octa Capture and all that was used was the on board compressor to get the sound required. They even work for vocals with some EQ. The cardiod polar pattern is tight and in a pair setting for classical guitar recording can be set back about 1 meter to capture some air along with a full sound. They work well for guitars when mounted at eye level or higher and pointed towards the guitar and spaced 1 to 2 meters apart. Some great reviews on Utube which convinced me to buy this matched pair.
