A Look at the Nord Electro 7: Versatile Keys for Stage and Studio Use

Studio Economik |

The Nord Electro 7 builds on the legacy of the Electro series by introducing key updates for stage performers and studio users. This model incorporates features from Nord's Organ 3 line and introduces a revamped panel with a large, high-resolution color display for improved navigation and sound management.

A notable addition is the new Synth Section, which supports samples, analog waveforms, and FM synthesis. It also includes a dedicated push encoder for selecting categories and sounds, vibrato control with adjustable parameters, and dual envelopes for amp and filter or FM shaping. Key features like Mono, Legato, Glide, Unison, and a low-pass filter with resonance are present, along with full compatibility with the Nord Sample Library.

The Electro 7 also features a redesigned effect layout, offering individual effects per section. Modulation effects come with rate and amount controls, and new amp simulations such as Brit and Suitcase are included. A new spring reverb and global reverb with per-layer send enhance overall sound shaping.

For organ players, the Electro 7 brings physical drawbars with LED indicators across all models, incorporating classic sounds such as B3, B3 Bass, Vox, Farfisa, Soft B3, and Pipe organs. These are powered by Nord's Organ 3 engine, along with three mic positions for the Rotary Speaker emulation.

Piano users will find compatibility with the Nord Piano Library, access to features like dynamic compression, timbre shaping, and unison modes.

The Electro 7 is available in three keyboard configurations:

An Expression Pedal Assign feature allows for hands-free control of synth filter and effects, adding flexibility in live setups.
