elysia channex|studio: Class-A Analog Channel Strip with Digital Recall

Studio Economik |

The elysia channex|studio is a fully analog channel strip that brings together high-end audio performance and digital convenience. Designed for tracking, mixing, and mastering, it combines Class-A analog circuitry with full digital recall for the first time in elysia's product line. This hybrid design allows users to store up to 22 presets directly on the device, with additional control and automation available via a dedicated DAW plugin. Whether working standalone or within a digital workflow, the channex|studio ensures consistency and efficiency across sessions.

At the heart of the unit is a high-end preamp offering up to 64dB of gain, front and rear input options, a high-pass filter, +48V phantom power, and polarity switching. Accurate input metering is handled by elysia’s Shell Precision Metering system. Following the preamp is a dynamic 4-band EQ with adjustable frequency, gain, Q factor, and shelf filters. Each EQ band can operate dynamically, a feature rarely found in hardware and typically reserved for software plug-ins.

The compression stage includes a simplified dual-stage compressor with threshold, release, and make-up gain controls, as well as a built-in limiter and soft clip function for reliable peak control. A standout feature is the “Flavor” section, offering five distinct analog coloration styles that can be blended and adjusted individually for subtle or pronounced tonal shaping. These can be bypassed instantly for A/B comparisons.

Monitoring is equally robust, with two headphone amps and three customizable monitoring mixes for artist, engineer, and studio playback. Users can adjust individual mix levels for input signal, playback, and reverb, while talkback and mute functions support smooth communication and workflow during sessions. The channex|studio also features a flexible signal path, allowing users to reorder internal sections such as the EQ, compressor, flavor module, and hardware insert. This routing flexibility is mirrored in the monitoring section, where headphone tap points can be chosen independently for the artist and engineer.

The rear panel includes a comprehensive range of connectivity options, such as insert send/return, stereo playback inputs, FX input, main and monitor outputs, talkback mic input, footswitch control, and both Ethernet and USB for plugin integration. These features make the channex|studio a powerful solution for hybrid analog-digital studios seeking workflow consistency and high-fidelity audio capture.

We are taking pre-orders now with a shipping date for sometime in the spring of 2026.
