Novation FLkey 2 Brings Deeper FL Studio Control to Music Production

Studio Economik |

Novation FLkey 2 is the next generation of MIDI keyboard controllers designed for hands-on control in FL Studio. Available in Mini 25, 37, 49, and 61-key versions, the FLkey 2 range connects directly with key FL Studio functions, giving users access to instruments, sequencing, mixing, effects, and creative tools from the controller.

Each FLkey 2 model includes velocity-sensitive pads with polyphonic aftertouch, supporting step sequencing in the Channel Rack and finger drumming. The controllers also include keys for playing basslines, melodies, and chords, with the 49-key and 61-key models adding semi-weighted keybeds for a different playing feel.

For production workflow, FLkey 2 automatically maps knobs and faders to FL Studio controls, allowing users to adjust levels, filters, effects, and other parameters. Scale and Chord modes, along with a built-in arpeggiator, provide additional options for creating progressions, melodies, and patterns.

A new OLED display shows information such as active parameters and chords being played. The FLkey 49 and FLkey 61 models also support split and layer functions, allowing the keyboard to be divided into two zones or layered for expanded performance setups.

Each FLkey 2 controller includes MIDI Out, using either a full-sized or mini-jack connection depending on the model, making it possible to connect external MIDI hardware such as synths. Custom layouts can also be created with Novation Components software for FL Studio, plugins, or external gear.

FLkey 2 is compatible with Native Kontrol Standard plugins and includes a software bundle featuring six months of FL Studio Producer Edition, Novation Play, selected instruments and effects, and Melodics lessons for keyboard and finger-drumming practice.
