Solid State Logic's UMD192 is a high-capacity USB audio interface built for demanding professional environments including live sound, broadcast, and studio setups. Designed to handle large-scale workflows, it delivers seamless routing and format conversion between MADI, Dante, and USB audio systems, all within a compact ½RU chassis.

The UMD192 can stream up to 192 channels at 96 or 48 kHz, and 128 channels at 192 kHz. It allows bidirectional audio transfer between any two of its supported formats, USB, MADI, or Dante, while simultaneously sending a split feed to the third. This makes it particularly useful for routing MADI-based devices into Dante networks or for handling high-track-count recording over USB 3.0.
UMD192 supports full Dante AoIP compatibility including AES67 and ST 2110 with DDM (Dante Domain Manager), offering ultra-low latency down to 0.25 ms. With six MADI BNC pairs and a redundancy mode, it can run up to three dual-redundant MADI paths, ideal for critical live and broadcast use. It also provides flexible clocking from either MADI or Dante, across a wide range of sample rates.

Beyond live sound, the UMD192 is suited for use with SSL System T in broadcast, Harrison 32Classic with Dante, or SSL’s ORIGIN and ORACLE systems. It also integrates easily into non-SSL workflows, offering a scalable and robust format-bridging solution. Its lightweight build and desktop or rack-mount flexibility make it adaptable to different setups.
The interface features clear visual feedback for signal flow, sync status, power, and network activity. To avoid accidental changes during critical operations, front panel controls are locked by default. Unlocking gives access to mode selection, clock source switching, and MADI redundancy toggling.
The UMD192 offers power flexibility with support for AC, Power over Ethernet (PoE), and USB, enabling redundant power configurations. On macOS, it operates as a class-compliant device, o driver needed. Windows users can access multi-client ASIO drivers from SSL’s support portal.
