Description

The Solid State Logic UMD192 is a professional-grade USB audio interface designed to deliver high channel counts and dependable performance in live sound, broadcast, studio, and postproduction environments. It supports up to 192 channels at 48 or 96 kHz, and 128 channels at 192 kHz, all within a compact ½ rack unit that’s easy to integrate into mobile or fixed installations. With seamless connectivity across USB, MADI, and Dante, it enables engineers to route audio between formats with minimal latency and full format transparency. This flexibility allows users to consolidate systems, manage large-scale routing requirements, and maintain signal quality across complex setups. Mac users benefit from native Core Audio compatibility without the need for additional drivers, while Windows users can rely on SSL’s dedicated ASIO driver for multi-client workflows. The inclusion of AC, USB, and PoE power options further supports a range of deployment scenarios, including those requiring power redundancy for critical use.

The UMD192 provides a practical solution for connecting digital consoles, recorders, computers, and networked audio systems. It offers six MADI BNC pairs with support for dual-redundant configurations, ideal for applications where continuous audio delivery is essential. On the Dante side, it supports AES67 and ST 2110 (with DDM), along with low-latency performance starting at just 0.25 milliseconds. Real-time status indicators on the front panel give clear visual feedback for signal flow, sync status, and network activity, while a front panel lock feature helps preserve settings during operation. The UMD192’s format bridging capabilities and robust design make it suitable for use across a wide range of professional workflows, from high-track-count studio sessions to live production scenarios where reliability and flexibility are key. With solid construction, comprehensive connectivity, and an intuitive interface, the UMD192 provides a straightforward path to managing modern digital audio environments.
