Description

The Zaxcom ZRC (ZaxNet Remote Controller) is a dedicated wireless control surface for Zaxcom Digital Recording Wireless systems, giving production sound teams centralized control without relying on a touchscreen or mobile app. Its large graphic LCD, physical keypad, and straightforward menu system provide quick access to transmitter frequency, input gain, power modes, recording commands, naming, encryption, and other commonly used settings. Individual transmitters can be addressed by Group and ID, while selected commands can be sent across multiple transmitters at once, making the ZRC particularly useful for larger wireless setups.

Integrated SMPTE timecode capabilities allow the ZRC to generate, read, jam, and transmit timecode over ZaxNet, with a 3-pin LEMO connection for external timecode input and output. Users can configure frame rate, user bits, output voltage, and timecode transmission behavior. The controller also provides remote microSD card formatting, three internal presets, adjustable ZaxNet frequency and transmit power, and LOW2 and SLEEP modes that can help conserve compatible transmitter batteries between takes.

Designed for flexible operation on set, the ZRC runs from two AA alkaline, lithium, or NiMH batteries or external USB-C power. USB-C also supports firmware updates, while an SMA antenna connection serves the 2.4 GHz ZaxNet radio. The compact 240 g controller measures 88 × 33 × 146 mm and provides a practical way to manage recording wireless transmitters, timecode, and key system functions from one dedicated device.
