Le système d’extension pour cartes PCIe Thunderbolt 5 Echo III Desktop à trois logements pleine longueur offre trois logements PCIe pour connecter des cartes d’extension professionnelles à des ordinateurs dépourvus de logements internes. Ses logements PCIe 3.1 - un x16 et deux x8 - prennent en charge jusqu’à trois cartes PCIe pleine hauteur et pleine longueur, autres que des cartes GPU, avec une bande passante PCIe agrégée bidirectionnelle pouvant atteindre 3400 Mo/s lorsqu’il est connecté à un ordinateur Thunderbolt 5. Il prend en charge les flux de travail professionnels, notamment la capture vidéo, la diffusion en continu et le transcodage, le traitement DSP audio, les réseaux Ethernet 10Gb et 25Gb, le stockage SSD, la connectivité SAS ainsi que les systèmes Avid Pro Tools | HDX.

Conçu pour les installations de bureau, le système associe un boîtier en aluminium robuste à une alimentation universelle intégrée de 400 W et à une alimentation PCIe auxiliaire de 75 W pour les cartes exigeantes. Deux ventilateurs Noctua à température contrôlée assurent un refroidissement silencieux, tandis que la gestion automatique de l’alimentation allume et éteint le système avec l’ordinateur connecté. Deux ports Thunderbolt 5 assurent la connexion à l’ordinateur hôte ainsi que la connexion à un périphérique Thunderbolt ou USB compatible supplémentaire.
