Description

The Drawmer 1972 Dual Mic, Line and Instrument Pre-Amplifier is a refined studio tool designed to capture recordings with exceptional clarity and control. Suitable for everything from budget dynamic microphones to high-end ribbon and condenser models, it delivers clean, detailed results across a wide range of sources. With dedicated mic, line, and front panel DI inputs, it adapts easily to vocals, acoustic instruments, electric guitars, and more, making it a versatile centerpiece for any recording setup.

Each channel is built around advanced THAT Corporation technology, offering up to 66dB of stepped gain along with output trim for precise level control. Fully variable high-pass and low-pass filters allow you to remove unwanted rumble or hiss directly at the source, while the musical Shape control provides a smooth tilt EQ to rebalance bass and treble. Three selectable mic impedance settings add further flexibility, enabling accurate microphone matching or subtle tonal shaping depending on your creative goals.

A defining feature of the 1972 is Drawmer’s exclusive Lift control, designed to bring out very low-level details without introducing noise or affecting louder passages. This makes it especially effective for dynamic performances such as piano, vocals, and ambient recordings. With its robust steel chassis, analogue VU metering, and carefully engineered power supply, the 1972 combines thoughtful design with dependable performance for modern studios seeking precision and character in equal measure.
