The Blackmagic 2110 IP Mini BiDirect 12G SFP is a compact SMPTE ST 2110 converter designed to connect professional SDI cameras and production equipment to IP-based broadcast networks over optical fiber. Built for live production, remote broadcasting, and modern SMPTE-2110 infrastructures, it provides bidirectional conversion between 12G-SDI and IP video while supporting long-distance connectivity through an integrated SFP optical fiber interface. Its compact design allows it to be mounted directly with cameras or production equipment, making it an efficient solution for facilities transitioning from traditional SDI workflows to IP-based operations.
Featuring a 12G-SDI input and output, the converter supports SD, HD, 2K, Ultra HD, and 4K formats up to 2160p60 while simultaneously handling camera feeds and program return signals over a single SMPTE-2110 connection. The integrated SFP socket accepts 10G Ethernet, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI, and 12G-SDI optical modules, providing exceptional flexibility for optical fiber deployments. Support for SMPTE ST 2110-20 video, ST 2110-30 audio, ST 2110-40 ancillary data, NMOS discovery and connection management, Precision Time Protocol (PTP), and the Blackmagic IP10 codec ensures seamless integration into professional IP broadcast environments.
Designed specifically for camera and live production workflows, the 2110 IP Mini BiDirect 12G SFP includes a dedicated 5-pin XLR talkback headset connection, talkback controls, and tally support, enabling direct communication between camera operators and production teams. It supports up to 16 channels of embedded audio in both SDI and SMPTE-2110 streams, while LED indicators provide quick status monitoring for IP lock, SDI lock, and tally signals. Powered by the included 12V DC universal power supply, the converter delivers a practical and reliable bridge between optical fiber SMPTE-2110 networks and professional SDI equipment in demanding broadcast environments.
