The Blackmagic 2110 IP Mini BiDirect 12G is a compact SMPTE ST 2110 converter designed to connect professional SDI cameras and equipment directly to modern IP-based broadcast infrastructures. Its bidirectional design allows it to simultaneously handle a camera feed and a program return signal over a single 10G Ethernet connection, making it an ideal solution for live production, studio installations, remote production, and broadcast environments transitioning from traditional SDI workflows to SMPTE-2110 networks.
Featuring a 12G-SDI connection with support for SD, HD, Ultra HD, and 4K formats up to 2160p60, the converter seamlessly bridges SDI and SMPTE-2110 IP video while preserving professional image quality. It supports SMPTE ST 2110-20 video, ST 2110-30 audio, and ST 2110-40 ancillary data, along with NMOS discovery and connection management for integration into larger IP routing systems. Precision Time Protocol (PTP) synchronization ensures accurate timing across the network, while support for the Blackmagic IP10 codec enables efficient transport of high-bandwidth Ultra HD signals over standard 10G Ethernet infrastructure.
Designed specifically for camera-based workflows, the 2110 IP Mini BiDirect 12G includes a built-in 5-pin XLR talkback headset connection, dedicated talkback controls, and tally support, allowing camera operators to communicate directly with production teams while receiving live status information. The converter can be powered through PoE++ over Ethernet or via the included 12V DC power supply, reducing cabling requirements and simplifying deployment in the field. Its compact form factor allows it to be mounted inline with cameras or other broadcast equipment, delivering a practical and efficient bridge between SDI devices and SMPTE-2110 IP production systems.
