Description

The Blackmagic Design UltraStudio Express is a compact video capture and playback device that connects a computer to professional video equipment. Designed for production and post-production workflows, it works with Blackmagic Desktop Video software to bring video into a computer for capture and send finished material back out for monitoring or playback. It can be used with applications such as DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer, while Blackmagic Media Express provides a straightforward option for capturing and playing clips without a full editing application.

UltraStudio Express is well suited to workflows involving cameras, video decks and external monitors. Desktop Video Setup provides centralized control over supported video and audio connections, output behavior and signal conversion, while Media Express can automatically detect an incoming video format for quick capture. The broader Desktop Video workflow also supports tasks such as external video monitoring, editing, color work and tape-based production, making UltraStudio Express a practical bridge between computer-based software and dedicated video hardware.
