Description

The Schoeps V4 U is the studio microphone by Schoeps, here in blue. It unites the outstanding technical characteristics typical of Schoeps with a timeless, classic design.

Its cardioid small-diaphragm capsule has a 33-mm beveled collar, so the directivity increases steadily and smoothly at high frequencies, as in a large-diaphragm microphone, while the extraordinarily smooth frequency and polar response are maintained. The capsule is elastically suspended internally to reduce handling noise, and the capsule head has an adjustable tilt angle.

The electronics use a transformerless, balanced output stage with a maximum sound pressure level of 144 dB SPL, corresponding to an output level of 4.8 V. Gapless shielding and a modern RFI filter at the output give high immunity to interference.
