Description

The Schoeps V4 U USM Set pairs the V4 U studio microphone with a wooden case and the USM-V4 elastic suspension. The V4 U is the studio microphone by Schoeps, with a classic look based on the Schoeps CM 51/3 from 1951 and a thoroughly modern capsule, circuit and mechanical construction.

Its small-diaphragm capsule has a 33-mm beveled collar, so the directivity increases steadily and smoothly at high frequencies, as in a large-diaphragm microphone, while the extraordinarily smooth frequency and polar response are maintained. The on-axis response has a mild high-frequency lift. This set comes in blue.

The USM-V4 elastic suspension is recommended for maximum solid-borne sound isolation. Its base has a 3/8' inner thread, and an adapter for 5/8' is included.

Features

Studio Microphone Design
The V4 U look is based on the Schoeps CM 51/3 from 1951, while its capsule, circuitry and mechanics are new developments.

Bevelled-Collar Capsule
A 33-mm beveled collar makes the directivity increase steadily and smoothly at high frequencies, while the smooth frequency and polar response of a small-diaphragm capsule are maintained.

Mild High-Frequency Lift
The on-axis frequency response features a mild high-frequency lift.

Adjustable Capsule Head
The capsule head has an adjustable tilt angle.

Internal Capsule Suspension
The capsule is elastically suspended internally to reduce solid-borne sound such as handling noise.

High Maximum Level
The maximum sound pressure level is 144 dB SPL, corresponding to an output level of 4.8 V.

Balanced Transformerless Output
The output stage is transformerless and free of coupling capacitors, with a symmetrical balanced output.

Interference Protection
Gapless shielding and a modern RFI filter at the output give high immunity to interference.

USM-V4 Elastic Suspension
Recommended for maximum solid-borne sound isolation. The base has a 3/8' inner thread and an adapter for 5/8' is included.
