Description

The Audient ASP4816-HE Heritage Edition is a compact, professional analog recording and mixing console that combines the sound quality and hands-on control of a large-format desk with a space-efficient design. Ideal for project studios and professional recording environments, it features 16 Class-A discrete microphone preamps derived from Audient's renowned ASP8024-HE console, delivering exceptional clarity, detail, and headroom. Its flexible in-line architecture provides separate recording and monitoring paths within each channel, allowing engineers to record, monitor, and mix simultaneously. With 16 multitrack buses, eight subgroups, comprehensive routing options, and dedicated DAW returns, the ASP4816-HE integrates naturally into modern hybrid recording workflows.

Each channel features a versatile four-band equalizer with switchable high and low shelving frequencies and two fully parametric midrange bands, providing precise tonal control during tracking and mixing. The console also offers six auxiliary sends, two dedicated cue sends, channel inserts, and four stereo effects returns, making it easy to incorporate external processors and create independent headphone mixes for performers. Its comprehensive monitoring section supports four pairs of control room speakers, dedicated studio speaker and foldback outputs, talkback functionality, and detailed LED metering. These features provide the flexibility needed to manage everything from individual vocal recordings to complex multitrack sessions.

The ASP4816-HE's Heritage Edition mix bus processing adds another dimension to analog mixing. Discrete John Hardy 990C+ op-amps deliver detailed, responsive analog summing, while the switchable Carnhill transformer-based XFRMR Drive circuit introduces additional punch, warmth, and character. Dedicated Low Bump and High Lift functions provide subtle low-frequency weight and high-frequency openness, while the integrated stereo bus compressor helps bring individual tracks together into a cohesive mix. Combining classic analog circuitry with extensive connectivity and intuitive tactile controls, the Audient ASP4816-HE offers a complete recording and mixing environment for engineers seeking the creative flexibility and sonic character of a traditional analog console.
