The Black Lion Audio Auteur Quad2 is a versatile and thoughtfully designed four-channel mic preamp that combines the clarity of modern engineering with the warmth of vintage analog sound. Housed in a durable 1U rackmount chassis, this boutique preamp is well suited for a wide range of studio applications. It excels at capturing detailed vocals, giving punch to drums, and adding character to guitar recordings. Its hybrid design features a transparent American-style input stage paired with Cinemag transformers on the output, which introduce a rich, British-style color to the signal.

Each of the four channels includes front-facing DI inputs for instruments, rear-panel XLR inputs, and both XLR and TRS output options. This gives engineers flexibility for a variety of recording setups. The unit offers independent phantom power, polarity reverse, and a -10 dB pad on every channel. This updated model also includes improved analog VU meters and increased gain, with up to 66 dB available to support low-output microphones like ribbons and dynamics. Whether you're aiming for clean and accurate tones or a more colorful, analog feel, the Auteur Quad2 delivers a well-balanced and musical response that fits seamlessly into any studio environment.
