Description

The Franklin Audio RA-200 is a stereo re-amping and return interface that makes it easy to integrate guitar pedals, stompboxes, tape echoes and other instrument effects into professional recording and mixing workflows. It converts balanced line-level signals from an audio interface into the appropriate instrument-level signals for pedals, then brings the processed audio back to balanced line level. With carefully designed gain staging, impedance matching and transformer-balanced inputs and outputs, the RA-200 lets you explore the character of your favourite effects while maintaining control over noise, distortion and signal levels.

Designed for hands-on creativity, the RA-200 features adjustable Send Level, variable output impedance, a dedicated Dry/Wet blend and Output Gain control. Its front-panel stereo send and return connections make it easy to swap pedal chains without reaching behind your rack, while hardwire true bypass, ground lift and polarity inversion provide additional control over your signal. Transformer-balanced line connections contribute subtle weight and harmonics, allowing everything from vintage delays to modern stereo reverbs to become part of your studio's processing chain.

Beyond pedal re-amping, the RA-200 works as a stereo instrument preamp for recording guitars, basses and keyboards directly into an audio interface without a separate DI box or microphone preamp. It can also send previously recorded DI tracks through guitar or bass amplifiers for re-recording. From processing drum loops and synthesizers to adding analogue effects to vocals, the RA-200 provides a flexible connection between your DAW and your collection of instrument effects.

Caractéristiques

Stereo Re-Amping and Return
Connect mono or stereo instrument effects to professional line-level equipment, with dedicated circuitry that converts signals to the appropriate levels in both directions.

Transformer-Balanced Signal Path
Transformer-balanced line inputs and outputs provide professional audio connectivity while adding subtle weight and harmonics to the signal.

Variable Send Level
Adjusts the signal feeding connected pedals to maintain suitable operating levels and help prevent unwanted clipping.

Adjustable Output Impedance
Variable impedance control lets you tailor the interaction between the re-amping circuit and connected instrument effects.

Integrated Dry/Wet Blending
Blend the original dry audio with the processed signal directly from the front panel for parallel effects processing.

Hardwire True Bypass
Connects the send directly to the return, removing connected effects from the signal path without requiring cable changes.

Dedicated Output Gain Control
Adjust the level of the returning audio before it reaches your interface, converters or mixer.

Front-Panel Stereo Pedal Inserts
Convenient stereo send and return connections automatically override the corresponding rear-panel connections when used, simplifying pedal changes.

Direct Instrument Recording
Record electric guitars, basses and stereo keyboards through the return circuit without requiring a separate DI box or microphone preamp.

Amplifier Re-Amping
Send previously recorded DI guitar or bass tracks through amplifiers for additional tonal experimentation and recording.

Ground Lift Control
Disconnects the balanced input ground connection to help alleviate hum caused by ground loops.

Return Polarity Inversion
Invert the polarity of the returning effects signal to address phase-related cancellation when blending processed and dry audio.

Balanced Studio Connectivity
XLR and TRS connections provide flexible integration with audio interfaces, converters and mixing consoles.

Optimized Gain Staging
Dedicated send and return gain ranges help instrument effects operate at appropriate levels while maintaining controlled audio performance.

Unity Gain Reference Markings
Clearly marked unity gain positions on the Send Level and Output Gain controls simplify setup and level matching.
